Day Porter/Housekeeping

The Farmington YMCA is currently looking for a part-time day porter/housekeeper. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and has experience working in the janitorial field. This position is 20-24 hours per week which includes at least one day on the weekend.

The Farmington Family YMCA is a busy, comprehensive facility which includes one gymnasium, two swimming pools, racquet ball courts, weight room, wellness center and several multipurpose rooms.

Water Fitness Instructor

The Farmington Family YMCA is looking nationally certified water fitness instructors to join our ever growing staff. We offer all levels of water fitness classes ranging from shallow end to deep end and everything in between (Senior water exercise, Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatics Classes, and Water Boot Camp to name a few). Classes begin at 8:00am Monday – Friday and primarily run in the mornings with a few evening classes as well.

Swim Instructor

Looking for swim instructors to teach lessons at the Farmington Family YMCA. Must be comfortable teaching an age range of 6mos – adult. Instructor will instruct all levels from parent/child through adult as well as private and semi-private lessons. The swim instructor is responsible for teaching all levels of the National YMCA Swim Lesson program. This person will keep accurate attendance records, develop lesson plans and distribute family huddles and progress reports to all swimmers as well as evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all swimmers. The swim instructor must also be able to motivate, evaluate and communicate with all age groups.

Lifeguard

The Farmington Family YMCA is looking for qualified lifeguards to work at our two pools. We are looking for hard working, self motivating people who work well in a team atmosphere. The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all members and program participants within the aquatic facility by being on the guard stand or patrolling. He/she will be responsible for carrying out and enforcing aquatic policies and procedures in compliance with the statutes as described by the State of Michigan, the YMCA of the USA, Jeff Ellis and Associates and the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit.
