BASKETBALL LEAGUES

Youth Basketball

Y Basketball emphasizes sportsmanship and skill development in a fun, safe setting.

Players learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, persistence and communication while focusing on the fundamentals of the game.

We have two League options:

Macomb Youth Baskeball

Age Groups: 6&7, 8&9

Teams will meet once a week for practice and have a game on Saturday. Practice begins January 23, 2012. Space is limited.

Inter-Y Youth Baskeball

Age Groups: 8&9, 10&11
For this Inter-YMCA league, our Macomb Y will field a team and play teams from other local YMCAs. Practices will take place at our Macomb Y and games will be at various YMCAs. A schedule will be provided at the Parent Meeting. Practice begins January 23, 2012.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

For Girls 10-12 years
Y volleyball programs emphasize sportsmanship and skill development in a fun, safe setting . Players learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, persistence and communication while focusing on the fundamentals of the game.

Please note Girls Volleyball is an Inter-YMCA league. Practices will take place at our Macomb Y and games will be at various YMCAs. A schedule will be provided at the Parent Meeting. Practice begins March 16, 2012.

World famous instructor, Jerry Wee, leads our classes. Martial Arts classes are a great way for kids to improve coordination and balance, learn skills of self-discipline and get exercise.

Macomb Marlins Swim Team

The purpose of the Macomb Marlins Swim Team is to encourage youth to develop strong minds and bodies, to become self-disciplined and exhibit good sportsmanship and team spirit. Swimming offers the advantage of team as well as individual accomplishments. The Marlins swim for enjoyment and the improvement of strokes and technique. As a YMCA team, we do not cut swimmers. Currently, YMCA swimming in Michigan consists of approximately 25 to 30 teams in southern Michigan. Our swim team has been in existence for over 40 years, and we continue to be one of the largest swim "FAMILIES" in Macomb County. The Marlins offer a program that will fit any swimmer's ability or competitive drive.

The Macomb Family YMCA is more than just a wellness facility for individuals and families...

Inside the YMCA and the Community Center, located on Groesbeck Highway, we have the new perfect place that can meet the needs for nearly any special event you can imagine. From a small birthday party to a large corporate event, or an overnight party with a school, church or community group, we have a space that can meet your needs. In addition to a variety of rooms, we also have a pool and gymnasium available.
